Mary E. Lester, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Mary-E.-LesterMDDr. Lester is a board certified plastic surgeon who practices primarily at IU Health Methodist Hospital. Born and raised in Atlanta, GA, she attended Auburn University for an undergraduate degree in Zoology and graduated from medical school at Emory University in 2000. Dr. Lester subsequently trained in General Surgery at Emory University in Atlanta. She then transitioned to Charleston, South Carolina for her Plastic Surgery Residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. In 2008 she also completed a microsurgical Breast Fellowship in Charleston, South Carolina with Dr. Bob Allen. Dr. Lester joined the Plastic Surgery team at Methodist in 2010.

Dr. Lester practices in all areas of plastic surgery including reconstruction for cancer, trauma and post surgical difficulties. She maintains an interest in breast reconstruction including implant and perforator flap breast reconstruction including DIEP, SIEA, GAP and PAP flap reconstruction. Dr. Lester is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and is also dual certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
